Phillipe Daron
Phillipe Daron born 1951 in Belgium / died 2015 in Belgium
Phillipe Daron, also known by the artist name Daspremont, was a Belgian painter who dedicated himself to art at a young age. After graduating from school, he fully concentrated on painting. His first works emerged in the late 1960s. Around 1970, he created a series of female nudes, which associate him with the emerging Neo Pop Art. This art movement developed in response to Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art of the 1950s and 60s, addressing social themes such as consumerism, sexuality, and media with an ironic undertone.

Daron is considered a representative of avant-garde Neo Pop Art, an art movement rare in Germany. Stylistically, his work is comparable to artists such as Romero Britto, Otto Mühl, and James Rizzi. His expressive, figurative painting was presented in numerous exhibitions. Despite his significance, he is still considered an undiscovered Pop Art artist of the 20th century today.
