Edition Bull&Bear THE CONSTANT BATTLE

Pawel Luchowski, born in 1969 in Grifow SL (Greifenberg, Lower Silesia), is a sculptor and object artist.

The multi-talented artist, influenced by Fluxus, studied art with Professor Jerzy Zyndwalewicz from 1990 to 1992 after completing his stage design training at the theater in Wroclaw (Breslau), and then sculpture with the artists and professors Leona Podsiadtego and Aloijzego Gryta.

As an experienced sculptor and connoisseur of various materials and manufacturing techniques, from bronze casting to working with wood and assemblages of various materials, Pawel Luchowski utilizes a wide range of techniques, including oil painting, various printing processes, and airbrush techniques.

With his sculpture ensemble “Bull & Bear – THE CONSTANT BATTLE –”, Pawel Luchowski gives a unique face to the never-ending battle between optimists and pessimists. The bull thrusts its horns upward in battle, symbolizing emerging, optimistic markets worldwide. In contrast, the bear swipes its paw downward, embodying declining, pessimistic markets.

Pavel Luchowski on his work: “The challenge for me was to capture the natural movement in its dynamics, the moment just before the collision. The aim was to stage the bronzes in a tense manner, without any static elements. The bull attacks powerfully while the bear lurks, ready to fight. You can feel the inner strength, a momentum that can be as dangerous as it is effective.”

The bronzes were cast in solid metal by the artist and then plated with high-quality 24-carat gold. This exclusive edition is limited to 75 copies, each bearing the artist’s stamp and numbering. The sculptures are presented on a handmade real wood tableau,
their battlefield: the trading floor. A wooden cube, also handmade, completes this masterpiece.
