Szczesny lives and works in Saint-Tropez. <\/p>\n<p>Initially, Szczesny leaned toward abstract painting. In 1980, his shift toward figurative painting was reinforced by a guest stay at the Villa Romana in Florence. After completing his studies at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, Szczesny became a member of the group \u201cDie Neuen Wilden\u201d in Cologne, lived and worked for many years in New York, and today is considered one of the significant contemporary artists in Europe. Inspired by Henri Matisse, Jean Cocteau, Marc Chagall, Pierre Bonnard, and Pablo Picasso, he focuses on classical themes such as nudes, still lifes, and nature and landscapes.
